Chuck Heath, Sarah Palin’s father, said she left Hawaii because she felt uncomfortable being surrounded by too many Asians, contradicting Sarah’s own description of the reasons she left college after only one semester, Newsvine reports.
Palin and a friend went to a college in Hawaii and lasted only a single semester, with Palin describing the state as “a little too perfect.” She wrote in Going Rogue, “Perpetual sunshine isn’t necessarily conducive to serious academics for eighteen-year-old Alaska girls.”
However, Heath gave a different story, saying that Palin thought Asians and Pacific Islanders “were a minority type thing and it wasn’t glamorous, so she came home.”
Palin favored the University of Idaho “because it was much like Alaska yet still ‘Outside.’
Meanwhile, Sen. John McCain told NBC’s David Gregory Sunday he is amused by critics who think Sarah Palin is irrelevant but went on to criticize her anyway.
“I think Sarah Palin has earned herself a very big place in the political scene. I’m proud of her. I am entertained every time I see these people attack her and attack her and attack her. She’s irrelevant, but they can’t continue to attack her. I’m so proud of her and the work that she’s doing.”
